Monsterland

Welcome To

Monsterland Forums (a brief history)

On January 29, 2006 I started an internet message board on a used laptop computer. I had no idea what I was doing. I was dissatisfied with the larger kaiju themed message board communities and reckoned that my ability to write well and my great and lifelong fondness for Godzilla, horror and sci-fi movies might translate into an interesting internet "hang out", so to speak. I rarely advertised Monsterland Forums the first year, throughout 2006 and the board generated only 5637 posts. In October, 2007 and a few weeks before Halloween I began advertising this board at as many as fifteen(15) other message boards through "signature" image exposure. The posts I hammered out at other boards piled up. I engaged in a lot of "post" exchanges" with other board founders. With time and effort it paid off and by the end of 2007 Monsterland Forums had generated 9175 posts for the year. The breakthrough came in early 2008: the board began to consistently generate 2000+ posts per month. "MF" generated over 31,000 posts in 2008 and reached 150 total member registrations. The board underwent a format change to Zetaboards(from Invisionfree) in June, 2008, adding more features for members and improved overall security for the site. Today Monsterland Forums has over 70,000 posts, 174 registered members and an active community of 15-20 members, ranging in age from 13-50.

Currently, Monsterland Forums is averaging 100 posts per day to date through 2009 and has grown by sixteen(16) more member registrations. Like many message boards the percentage of active members could be more...and probably should be more, which keeps me motivated to continue striving to make this online community the very best it can be, and a fun and relaxing stopover for those browsing the internet who like to talk about horror/sci-fi and kaiju films and the monsters themselves.

Give Monsterland Forums a look. You might like what you see. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join this community. The link to the site: Monsterland Forums
